The Integrated Fixed-film Activated Sludge (IFAS) system represents an advanced hybrid wastewater treatment technology that synergizes biofilm and activated sludge mechanisms. Its core innovation lies in the introduction of biofilm carriers into existing activated sludge reactors, creating a dual-ecosystem of suspended biomass and attached biofilm.

Design


IFAS process provides an extremely cost-efficient retrofit solution for conventional activated sludge systems that are at or beyond capacity. The hybrid process enhances treatment capacity by introducing biofilm carriers into existing activated sludge reactors, eliminating the need for reactor expansion. IFAS leverages existing systems, equipment, process knowledge, training, and operator expertise, making it a highly economical solution for municipal and industrial wastewater plants requiring capacity expansion or performance upgrades.

MBBR Technology -- FloBca Media

·Lower quantity demand which means lower capital cost.

Unique material density slightly higher than water (1.0045 kg/m³), combined with elastic properties, prevents floating and surface accumulation. (Traditional PE filter media are typically made of high-density polyethylene with a density of 0.95 kg/m³, lighter than water).
This ensures optimal fluidization without additional aeration pipes at the retaining screen. Normal fluidization can be achieved with the existing aeration layout.

HINKTON Retro-X® is a proven, specially designed high-efficiency, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and self-cleaning aeration system tailored for MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) applications. It features the following characteristics:
· Upgrated Efficiency.The oxygen transfer efficiency is as high as 45% in sewage at a depth of 6 meters.
· PU membrane-unbeatable tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant (mechanical strength around 2.5-4 times that of most of the EPDM and silicone materials).
